Karel Sterk's ceramic work can be described as sculptures and vase sculptures. He builds the sculptures that Karel makes out of clay rolls. The shapes are created, layer by layer, mainly by feeling. Form contrasts of angular and round, sharp and soft are a source of inspiration for him and are a recurring theme in his work. He elaborates these contrasts into a harmonious whole. Harmony is a feeling, an experience. His sculptures have no title. It is essentially about the form in which the viewer can give his / her own meaning to the sculptures.
