Garden Ornaments Constructed from recycled glass and bottle glass. The bottle glass I get from acquaintances and from the container of a restaurant. And throughout the year I collect plates and bowls from the thrift store. Every year, in summer, I make about 20. Then all the stuff needed for this comes out, my studio and work tables are full. The bottoms come out of the bottles. The elements are cleaned, drilled and sanded so that the worst sharpness is gone. And then to work in the garden: stacking, looking, clearing a piece, looking again, clearing the piece, playing and watching and… until it's perfectly right. The elements stand separately on a steel rod, comparable to a string of beads. Therefore, in the rare case that an element breaks, it can always be replaced. The rod has a powder coating and protrudes 50 cm into the ground; falling over doesn’t happen easily. The ornament can be left outside in winter. Transport on a garden cushion or something like that. If it is not too far, the piece can be brought to your home.
